MEN PRAYING – “THE HOUR THAT CHANGES OCALA”
Mission Statement: A gathering of men, lifting up in prayer to our heavenly Father, the needs of the
lost and the least of those residing in the greater Ocala Florida area.
HOW OFTEN SHALL WE PRAY?
As often as the language of prayer is in my heart; as often as I see my need of help;
as often as I feel the power of temptation; as often as I am made sensible of any spiritual
declension or feel the aggression of a worldly spirit.
In prayer we leave the business of time for that of eternity, and conversation with men
for conversation with God. (Taken in part from a handbill distributed in New York City in
September of 1857 inviting men to unite in prayer for their struggling city. It grew from six
men meeting the first week to over 10,000 meeting daily and within two years. a million
converts were added to the American churches.)
The Prayer Meeting is held this Thursday and every Thursday following
from 12 noon til 1 o’clock, at the American Custom Cycle Shop located north of downtown
Ocala on hwy. 441, a block south of and across from the Ocala Ford dealership. The building
is bright orange. The meeting will continue for one hour, but it is also designed for those who
may find it inconvenient to remain more than five or ten minutes, as well as for those that
can spare the whole hour. All men are invited to attend.
